For us at Vegan Friendly, veganism is more than a diet, it’s a set of values to live life by.
Veganism is about being compassionate to all, not just animals, and wanting all living beings to be treated equally and to be afforded equal opportunities. We believe that all living beings should be seen as who they truly are and not be categorised by any race, religion, gender definitions or lifestyle.
For all of us at Vegan Friendly, being vegan is a way of life and that involves prioritising it beyond personal convenience. Being vegan is seeing injustice and deciding to dedicate time, thought, and effort to stand against it.
We are fully committed to not only building an inclusive and diverse world, but to actively champion it internally and externally.
We feel that failure to address diversity and inclusion in our company would be irresponsible and unethical. We further believe that we must put the efforts and motivation into fighting not only injustices against animals, but also into fighting social injustices that happen all too frequently in our world.
We stand firm in our belief that sharing our efforts is far more meaningful than just stating our beliefs, so here is a list of actions we’re actively pursuing to become a more inclusive organisation that supports diversity.
Diversity is the key to innovation. Leveraging diversity allows us to achieve positive outcomes for both the individual and the company. We share knowledge. We empower collaboration. We embrace creativity.
We are proud to collaborate with a variety of businesses and individuals with diverse gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, age, neurodiversity, disability status, citizenship, or any other aspect which makes them unique.
In addition to welcoming any business to our family without any discrimination, we actively work to get on board businesses that represent all parts of society. We want to expose our audience to the beauty of diversity and introduce them to different cultures and ethnicities through our social media channels.
We also aim to work with a truly diverse range of influencers and content creators on a paid basis, championing the work of individuals who are spreading the word about veganism in a positive light.
We are proud to support and promote small businesses that offer a variety of vegan options.
We are always looking for new ways to support like-minded non-profits and small businesses to help them get the recognition they deserve.
As we’ve just launched our operation in the UK, we are currently working on projects and activities that will be issued in the future, that will not only support but also promote amazing non-profits and organisations who work hard to make the world a better place for all.
At Vegan Friendly, we aim to create a safe space for everyone within the team on a day-to-day basis. We are a small team committed to promoting veganism, and we recognise we need to do more to employ and amplify BAME voices and we are looking to hire and work with more diverse ethnicities as the company expands.
We are also committed to creating a channel within our internal communications purely for anti-racism and diversity resources to help all our staff gain a better understanding of social issues.
As a company, we have a zero-tolerance policy to any racist, transphobic, sexist, homophobic, ableist commentary within the company and externally on our platforms.
With all of that being said, we are always open to hear and learn more about ventures we can get involved with and support, and welcome tips and suggestions on how to become a more socially-involved, inclusive and diverse organisation. Please don’t hesitate if you have any questions or notes for us regarding those issues, as this is highly important to us.
